When All Is Quiet and Life Stands Still
Ever
had a day when every second was filled from dawn to dusk? Then with no effort
of on your own, and without any kind of warning—it all comes to a halt! One
minute you had not one free second and suddenly all those plans are tossed out
the window. Now you are standing in unexpected stillness. The day once planned
to the ninth degree has come unraveled like a playful kitten with a ball of
yarn.
“This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy
One of Israel, says:
“in
repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength…..”
Isaiah 30:15
NLT
God
in His divine and loving nature sometimes makes a major shift in our plans just
to get our attention that for even a moment we will seek to be alone with Him.
It
doesn’t have to be a long time, and it doesn’t have to be in a chapel or
church. Being quiet and alone with God is shutting out the noise, drawing the
drapes on distractions and simply stopping wherever we are and turn our hearts
to Him.
When
all is quiet, when life stands still, any place, any time, we will always find
God yearning and waiting to meet us there.
In
that sunrise moment of stillness
In
His presence there is peace
He
will raise us up on eagle’s wings,
We’ll
soar on the breath of dawn
New
strength we gain and we’ll not grow weary
As
our Lord holds us in the palm of His hand
