A
Key Called Possibility
I
dug through generations of keepsakes in Grandma’s old trunk. It was packed full
of adventures, challenges, good times, hard times and dreams for her future.
Buried between the keepsakes was her well worn little black Bible that was the
key to making her such an amazing woman.
I
knew the Bible was what Grandma clung to, was the key to her faith and the key
to surviving a future that so many times looked impossible to her. To Grandma, the Bible was the
key to possibility in impossible times.
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be
discouraged,
for I am your God. I will strengthen you and
help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right
hand.”
Isaiah 41:9-10
NLT
Each
generation still gets caught up in their own day to day problems and
challenges. When our great grandparents lived God worked personally in their lives
and He still does today in ours. Our God
is faithful and the same today as He was from the beginning of time. He is concerned,
compassionate and caring about every detail of our day to day life. His love
endures forever.
God
is the only one who sees the generations past and the generations yet to come. When
we are concerned about our day, our future, the future of our children and our
children’s children we can come and talk it over with God and leave it all with
Him.
God’s
Word holds the key of promise which opens the door called hope. A door held on hinges
of faith and secured by the covenant of His love completely fulfilled by His
son, Jesus Christ.
The
Bible holds the ancient key for the possible by God’s promises of healing,
miracles, signs and wonders to this day. God’s Word is the key to turning on a light
of great wisdom to the absolute truth we can stand on and live by confidently.
As
believers in this new generation we can boldly step out, march along and face
up to every adventure, trial and situation we will face, knowing we never do it
alone and nothing is impossible for God.
“Faith, mighty
faith, the promise sees
And looks to
God alone,
Laughs at
impossibilities
And cries, ‘It
shall be done.’”
