Cape Disappointment WA by Dee Kamp
Greater
Than the Power of the Sea
As I stood on the shores of the great Pacific Ocean
on a bitter cold and stormy day in January, I witnessed huge powerful waves
crashing high up the rock cliffs making a booming sound like a cannon being
shot. The earth trembled beneath me and I could only stare in awe at such power
no man could possibly comprehend or conquer.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because
it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to
the Jew, then to the Gentile.” Romans 1:16 NIV
The truth and doctrine of the Atoning Blood of Jesus
and His victory on the Cross at Calvary is the keynote of our salvation and
hope for us all today as it was back then.
It’s paramount that we continually come to the
Cross, and in its shadow the truth that it is our abiding place close to God. Where all fears, sorrows and sins are laid to
rest.
Let us be content
to let the world go by, to feel the power of God’s love reverberate in our
heart like the power of the risen Christ like the power felt when the great
waves crashed upon the cliffs. For the powerful love of God is far greater than
the sea.
So let us now be forever content knowing, God has
conquered all sin and death through His Son Jesus, and we never face the fears
of the world alone again.
“Napoleon, after conquering almost the whole of Europe,
put his finger on the red spot of the map representing he British Isles, and said,
“Were it not for that red spot, I’d conquer the world!” So says Satan about the
place called Calvary where Jesus Christ shed His blood.” From: Springs in the Valley, Mrs. Charles E
