Like a Vacant Lot

Like A Vacant Lot

Right now that piece of land across the road is but a vacant lot. Plans, blueprints, hope and faith are needed to change that vacant lot to a place of beauty to live.

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen;

 it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” Hebrews 1:11 NLT

Faith cannot be drawn up, engineered or manipulated; it is a response from within us orchestrated by the Holy Spirit to help us pray to God the Architect and Creator of our faith. It is a supernatural confidence inspired by the will of God which He has planned for our lives and drawn up in the blueprints of His Word.

I am convinced that the practice of prayer in a believer’s life is an incredible power source from God that still many have not yet discovered. Not only am I so certain of this because of my personal experiences, but by the lives of many others who are committed to the discipline of prayer and have shared their testimonies with me.

The heart with hope in God is fertile ground to build a strong foundation of unshakeable faith. With faith in Jesus we know He has a plan for our lives and He directs our steps to get there. A heart can be like a vacant lot with no hope unless we come to God in faith and prayer first.

 “To say that “prayer changes things” is not as close to the truth as saying “Prayer changes me and then I change things.” God has established things so that prayer, on the basis of redemption, changes the way a person looks at things. Prayer is not a matter of changing things externally, but one of working miracles in a person’s inner nature.”―Oswald Chambers My Utmost for His Highest
